| 作品描述 | （私人收藏 Private collection） “这幅画通过一个小小的故事,捕获了我对旧金山的印象：两只小狗早已经放弃对主人的希望，那希望是船长能在返航后的晚上回家。 它们回望岸边，脖子已经酸疼，便将注意力转向水中，注视那只聪明的小鸟。它们清楚地知道，在那烛光闪动的窗户后面，船长已不知去向。 当然，鸟儿不会泄漏船长的秘密……谁能说没有许多这样的故事发生在这古雅建筑物附近，发生在薄雾后面，发生在金色的街灯光亮中？在我的印象里，无数这种童话般的时刻构成了这座城市的浪漫和生气。” "This painting captures my impression of San Francisco through a little narrative: Two puppies their long ago given up hope on their owner's, captain's return from a voyage in the night. Having stared above the bank until their necks ached, they turned their attention to the water, only to notice a clever little bird that surely knew behind which window, into which flicker of candlelight, their captain had vanished. But of course, the bird would not reveal the captain's secret… Who can say that there aren't many such stories taking place in the shadow of quaint buildings, behind wisps of fog, or in the golden pool of street lights? In my mind, a myriad of such fairy-tale like moments enlivens this romantic town." | ||
